Hermes Giberti received the M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Applied Mechanics from Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy, in 1998 and 2002, respectively. He is currently Full Professor with the Department of Electronics, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering, University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy, where he is a member and founder of RAMSLAB (Research on Advanced Mechanical Systems). He teaches courses in “Theoretical and Applied Mechanics,” “Machine Dynamics,” and “Functional Mechanical Design.” His research interests include the synthesis and design of mechatronic systems, parallel manipulators, and methodologies for selecting and using actuators in industrial automation. He has led multiple research projects and authored numerous publications in international journals and conferences.
